Hello all, I have an old timber king mill, I'm 99.9% sure it's an old B-20 based off of pics. I have yet to find a data plate. I'm in this mill for a grand total of 0 dollars thus far. It was free from a friend, I'm still deciding if I want to rebuild it since it all seems in great shape for its age, minus the hoses and missing engine. Front Kholer turns over. The Head does seem to be racked about 5" to the left side of mill, but it appears to be square on frame I think it's just racked from transporting. I didn't see a bolt to hold head in place but i'm sure there is supposed to be one. If anyone has any B-20 experience i'd love to know if you think it's for sure a B-20 and your thoughts on getting it up and running. I figure a good 30hp engine will be 2-3k figure another 1-2k in hoses and maybe 1k in misc wire, cheap new engine for hydraulics and some paint.

B16 orB20 depending on length. 23 hp Briggs and Stratton Vangaurd went right on mine (even older B16). Used a 6.5 predator to run the hydraulics on mine. Look on the frame  on the drivers back and the serial number plate should be there. Call Timber King they will have manuals for it.  Worth rebuilding for sure.

Appreciate it, i'll call them up in the morning if I can find that data plate. Went on ahead and ordered a 6hp Pred for hydraulics and I'm thinking a duromax engine, they have a 34hp for 1300 bucks.

He got it from his dad, came and ran my mill in the heat and decided being covered in sawdust with an 80 + percent humidity and 100+ degree weather was not for him lol. He's a generous friend

I have a 2000 that is 10 years old.  It is all fixable.  a new size model is 57K so you got some room to fix it.  If you know who it came from, TK may be able to look up that saw.  there is now a 2020wi more changes from mine, but I do not know the B20.  My go to is Matt at TK.  he will go way back with the company.  He is willing to spend time on the phone.  they may have replacement stuff if needed or where to get stuff.  Matt will know the answer or know who does.  they are a spencer of the forum, so please thank them for their support.

Saw your and Docs comments and reached out
to TK, waiting to hear back back tomorrow. This thing has had some serious customization, extended frame, rollers that seem to have gone to a conveyor belt and the controls seem to have been shifted off to the side. All fine and dandy, i'm getting a little confusion on his set up though. Do either of yours have a cylinder like this. The B-20s I'm seeing have chain driven dogs.
It doesn't seem to go to the loaders, dogs or turner

looks like it pushes the clamp into and away from the wood.  not sure where the lose end goes.  log lift would prob. have two cylinders.

Sorry that model is newer than mine.  It actually was made by Belsaw just before it became Timber King. Yours has many more bells and whistles.

Mike reached out today, he thinks it's an attempt to make a left right up down dog. He said they offer one. I'll prob just buy their version if it's available and go from there.

Yes, a 2-plane clamp.  thy may have old parts you can get.

I'm not near the mill, so I can't go look at it. But, I don't think that cylinder goes to a log clamp. Our clamp is operated by a threaded shaft that is driven by some sort of hydraulic motor.

I was at the mill this morning. That cylinder looks like the ones for the toe boards. In the photo, it appears to be hooked up to nothing. Have your toe boards been removed?
