I got the headboard done.  The top board is sycamore and the bottom poplar.  Both were sawed by our own Ron Wenrich.  Thanks Ron.










The way I decided on attaching the poles to the live edge board was using a white oak block with elongated holes to allow for shirnkage across the board.I then attach the oak blocks to the poles with deck screws.  Thanks for looking.

Well, the dog likes her new headboard for sure!  She lays back on her bed most of the day when the parents aint around.
