There's a fine line between turning firewood into beautiful things and beautiful things into firewood.

If you check in my gallery there is some pics of an old circular mill.  The mill is wood framed and converted over to pto from the old belt and pully.  Cuts some beautiful lumber. ;)

There's also C.H. Wendel's "The Circular Sawmill" that has quite a few old mills and descriptions.

Not to hijack the thread but anyone know where I can get a copy of that book...

I've looked everywhere for "The Circular Sawmill" by C.H. Wendel to no avail...

Thanks,
Jason

In lieu of my thread hijack above here are some old mill picts.

This is the Sanborn Mills Farm in Loudon, NH.

It is a water powered Lane #1 with a 36' carriage and probably 80' of track...

I've watched the thing run and it is impressive and oh so quiet...

I have been collecting old sawmill photos for a while because my wife says I get to do the decore of one wall in our new cabin.  I thought old sawmill photos and and some old mill tools were a good start.  If it works out I might get another wall.. ;D
