Wondering where I could find stumpage prices etc. for the Iowa or the midwest area.

Could prob ask the log buyers at work but trying to get a hold of them sometimes can be a trick.

Check with your State's Department of Natural Resources, Forest Management Division. They may publish a quarterly report as Michigan does. Request to be placed on their mailing list, usually at no chaege. Some states may now have such reports on the web.

There is also Timber Market North, but it requires a $100.00 annual subscription.

There is also the Hardwood Market Report, but a subscription is $210.00 a year.

The Iowa State Extension Service or local Conservation District Forester might also have some pricing information available.

Just remember the volumes are in International.  The report is probably more accurate in showing price trends rather than actual prices.
