Headin' to Orlando (actually, Winter Park) to make a college planning visit with my oldest son.  We will be in the area the evening of May 22nd, staying until late afternoon the 24th.  Got some time to kill, looking for something interesting to see or do that won't break my budget.  Also any good out-of-the-way restaurants in the area that aren't tourist traps.  We will be at the college (Full Sail University) all day Sunday, but Monday is open.

There's a bass pro shop in the southern end. If you haven't been in one they are pretty amazing and free (if you leave your wallet home). :D

Thirty plus years in the sawmill/millwork business. A sore back and arthritic fingers to prove it!

Orlando is the tourist trap of world.

If I were spending a day in the area, I'd be tempted to get a fishing license. find a guide with a boat and spend the time on the water.  The place is full of lakes and fishing is good this time of the year.  Top the evening off with a Sea Food supper, watch some TV in the motel room and get in bed before everything starts turning into pumpkins.

I'd say to go to Daytona Speedway if there was an event.  I don't think anything is happening.
