I have an abundance of SW pulp and aspen. I'd like to put together a list of pulp buyers.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

The easiest place to sell from your location would be Buffalo Mt. transfer yard located in Hardwick  Vt.

You can get more money if you have a ticket and trucking directly to mills such as New Page in Rumford Maine (their log yard is in Shelburn NH) or Verso Paper in jay Maine.  The above is good for aspen of various grades and the specs change all of the time.

Unless you are big enough to sell enough wood to negotiate contract with the big mills you will have to get a ticket to sell loads to them.  Around here the guys with the big self loading trucks usually have tickets and will bid for your wood on the landing.

Last winter one of the big truckers that works around here got ill and the wood was backing up. I had to sell to Buffalo and use my truck to load a guy with a 18 wheeler and a log trailer. He charged me $10 per ton and Buffalo paid $34 so I netted $24 a ton. The guy that has the big truck around here was paying $27 per ton on the landing and he was loading the wood. The problem was you never knew when he would come. I have a neighbor that had two loads on the landing that was cut in March and did not ship until July.

I talked to Burlington Electric this morning. They'll take the wood at $25/t, but Fish and Wildlife and a rep from Burlington Elec have to approve your site (deer yards, etc). Takes about two weeks. If there is enough wood, they'll chip it at site. I'm close by, so maybe that will work.
I did a job this summer where the wood was shipped to Jay. Seems like a long haul for pulp. Trucking must eat the $$.
   Thanks- cooler weather's nice, huh?

Maybe also try Robinsons log yard in Passumpsic- A bit further south, but might be good to deal with.

In all honesty, I do not know, I only know of the log yard and know they take both soft and hardwoods. We visited there during a high school forest tech class. Here is the phone # and address
