I was wondering if anybody has the repair/servicE manual for an old 025 stihl.

tree-farmer

you mean they break!   ;)

I have one that I have used hard and put up wet for near 20 years now, and it just keeps on going. Best saw I've ever had. Cut a load of wood with it Saturday.

Have you tried on line search for manual? I will keep an eye out for one, may need no someday as well.  What broke on yours?
Old doesn't bother me, its the ugly that's a real bummer.

The actual service/repair manuals are not really available.  From what I understand only dealers have access to them.  If you look in the chainsaw board there is already a previous topic on this from a month or so ago.

Thanks for the replies. I think it's my ignition coil. It starts and idols fine when it's cool, but as soon as it's put under load it dies off. It does this when it's hot as well. I bought it real cheap as a small secondary saw and didn't really check anything more than if it would start. If it is just the coil, I'll still be in pretty good shape if it's just the coil, their like 40 bucks aftermarket. I think I can put something like that on( I hope), just figured I'd see if I could find some extra help with it. Thanks again for the quick replies.

On that Stihl saw, the ignition coil is one item which might out-last the  saw.
The symptoms that you described indicate a probable fuel supply problem, even something as simple as a partially blocked pickup body.

Or try opening the high jet 1/2 turn or so, that should make it run rich if not the carb is clogged.   Steve
