Hi Jim. If I did my Googling correctly looks like you are over in Mass. Do you have a shop you sell the tools out of?

Bummer. Thanks for getting back to me.

That being said I wouldn't mind seeing pictures of the  1 1/2 inch and 2 inch timber framing chisels. If you have any slicks or corner chisels I'd like to look at those too.

Jim,

I am new to the forum and interested in some of your tools. I sent you an email, based on an earlier response of yours. Thanks very much!

Most adze handles and heads are made so you can remove the handle from the head so you can sharpen the cutting edge. Some have a wedge holding the head on the handle. If you find one with a wedge, don't loose the wedge.
My personal adze does not have "lips" or a round edges known as a lipped adze.

You can buy them online from several different sources.
You can find them at antique shops, and or flea markets.

Good luck with your search.

Hi Jim,

I am interested in the boring machine, but what is the difference between the Philips--------$395-Y-14 (with 2 bits)

And the more expensive ones?

Thanks,

Dave

Jim_Rogers

The Phillips machine has a lower chuck location and requires shorter bits that a standard machine. Thus, we supply two shorter bits to help a customer out. Other than that, it is a good machine. We recently tested it at a workshop in western North Carolina and it worked fine with the bits we provided.
