I have some 72lp Oregon chain. It is 3/8  .050

Will this work for this saw. Saw calls for .325, but don't really know what these numbers stand for.

no it will not fit,325 and 3/8 are different in the thickness of the drive links that fit into the guide rail on the bar and different in spacing of the drive link. this link will help you understand a little better,it will also identify the chain that fits your saw. http://www.oregonchain.com/homeowner/lookups/selguide.aspx?BusId=CONS&SellReg=USA&LangId=ENG

.325 is the pitch of the chain, 3/8 is a bigger pitch then the .325,  completely  different sprocket .325 , 3/8 sprocket

The sprocket on the bar has to match the sprocket on the saw.
