Hi

Does anyone have any experience with this product?
Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks

The MSDS sheets claim it is Xylene and Ethyl Benzine (hazards) in a solvent.
Looks to be a semitransparent stain.

No experience with how it lasts, but suspect would need to be reapplied every 2-4 years, same as other semitransparent stains.

It has an interesting marketing ad with several glowing remarks. ;)

Despite the glowing opinion from beenthere, I went ahead and tried the product...

It is definitely oil based, acts and cleans up like oil.
Lingering smell isn't that bad, I would say similar to linseed/varsol mix.
Made the grain pop VERY nicely, which was very important to the client and myself.
Dried to the touch on green pine in approx, 2 days; Likely less if it wasn't so humid lately.
I'm not an expert but I'm 99% sure this isn't a film-forming finish so peeling and cracking will not be an issue. It will just evaporate eventually. Which in my opinion, applying another coat earlier in life, is a thousand times easier than dealing with a peeled top-coat.

I did a visual comparison between this product and a water based semi-transparent, and I was not impressed with the amount of beautiful wood grain the water based product masked.

In the world of protecting wood I'm sure it is a crap shoot. Just pick your poison based on your maintenance habits, and aesthetics.

Here is a picture, they only have 3 colours available, I chose "Aspen" ...

That's a nice project and looks great.  smiley_thumbsup

My comment wasn't meant to discourage you. ;)
Figured it wasn't a water-based semitransparent stain.
