I was changing a grease fitting on a universal joint and noticed that it was warm so I kept feeling and the heat was coming from the transfer case.  I have never noticed this before but I have never checked either.  I could put my hand on it but I would say it was more than warm.  I also noticed gear oil coming from the breather on the top of the transfer case.  Is this normal and I am just being paranoid?  Thanks in advance.

They will run a bit warm in hot weather,if you don't have any strange noises in it, and the oil level is correct run it. you might check and make sure the brake ,emergency brake are coming all the way off,if they are on a bit they will generate heat. Don
