My advice on aging gracefully... ride fast bikes and date faster women, drink good tequila, practice your draw daily, be honest and fair in your dealings, but suffer not fools. Eat a hearty breakfast, and remember, ALL politicians are crooks.

Man's best friend is why it hurts.

Jeff

2 days ago he woke up with his front leg all swollen, twice its size.  Took him to the vet yesterday morning. They kept him for part of the day, sent him home on antibiotics, said he had a bad infection of unknown origins, and he died last night. No sign of anything wrong before He was 12. At least it was quick. If he had suffered, he didn't let us know.  He was so excited to see me when I got out of the hospital.

The first couple minutes of this video shows what a kind old big dog he was. This was Sawyer with him. Both great dogs and forever remembered. The cuel thing about man and dogs is the difference in our life spans.

I'm so sorry to read this and I know the grief it causes for your family. Such a very rough time. But he was a great ol' dog and that you will have with you forever.

Sorry to see this, Jeff.

I've lost dogs to what I'm certain were tick borne disease. My one Lab cross got a fall time deer tick bite. It hadn't been stuck long, but a few days later he got lethargic and died overnight. I hate deer ticks but they're just part of life now.
