Dave,

They are uniform now after a visit from the chainsaw  :D.  The shade cloth is there to keep ME from turning red   :-[ smiley_sweat_drop.  It would also serve the purpose of keeping the worst of the sun off the lumber.

David,

I will let the wood air dry for a while, maybe 60 - 90 days unless I need the wood sooner.  I also do not have to dry it all at the same time.

I, for one, would have liked to meet you!  I heard your name mentioned...

Ok. Look. If I know thecfarm and pineywoods are coming, I will definitely come. I really wanted to come this time. I'll even bring some "meat and cheese" or exactly whatever it is that thecfarm will eat.

BTW, I am one of the ones who has met Pineywoods, and he is definitely worth meeting!  ;D

Okrafarmer, save your bread, meat and cheese.  :D  Just a tad far at this time. Not that I don't want to go. I know it would be a great time. grits and all. Nothing I would like better to sit down and eat with a bunch of members. Sawing would be fun too.   ;D I'd let POSTON take care of the napping part.  :D
I would need a guided woods tour to check out the trees too. I was mowing the other day and saw a tree at the lower end of the field I have not noticed before. Had to look it up,a basswood. I don't have many on my land.

Well if you ever get down this way, one of us would be happy to give you a guided woods tour. WDH would probably be the most comprehensive guide available.  ;D

Yeah, Danny would be great, but can't hold a candle to Magicman. He gives guided woods tours, and then gives away highly valuable walnut trees that have fell in his creek  ;D

I don't want to bring any of that fine wood back to Maine. As I say,my wood working skills stop when the tree hits the ground.  :D I only use wood for heat.

I doubt that.  I bet you'd still be a good tailman. And if you won't eat the smoked sucker, would you turn down some of the best sausage you'd ever sink you teeth into? :D
