i had a little melt down today with my owb . some how it got hot enought to melt the pex along with the 2 pumps. i think they were taco 009. the tag is burned off and the wiring. the pump to the house is 100ft and up 8ft. and wil be running up to 4 007 pumps. the one to the garage is 20ft and up 10ft and runs to 2 modine heaters

Hope your stove is ok. I had mine empty of water to do something, forgot and in early fall lit it to burn off leaves etc from the yard. Melted off both lines but my pump is in the basement. Cost me a bit of work and pipe but nothing major.

If you google pictures of 007 and 009 pumps, you will see there is a difference in the motor. An 007 has a smooth, straight barrel, and an 009 has a tapered motor with "fins" on it. I don't know what an 011 looks like, other than it's noticeably bigger. I had a boil over on my OWB when the damper didn't close. That was a bit scary, but I don't think it cooked off too much water.

the 009 is much bigger than the 007. the 009 says 35' of head and 10gpm.   0011 is 31 head and 31gpn. i will call taylor they built the stove and see what they think

Holmes

200' of 1" pex is 12 ft of head.  10 gpm will give you 100,000 btu's per hour.  I believe you would need an 0011.  The 007 pumps will do the work to heat inside.

so you you think the 0011 would be better than the 009? how many btu with the 011?

Holmes

The 0011 will deliver 200,000 btu  the 009 will deliver 80,000 btu.  How big is your house sq.'?

1700 on the ground floor. its a cedar log cabin with a 17' ceiling on one end. with in floor heat

Holmes

80,000 btu will heat the house easily but the garage may make 80,000 btu marginal.

the garage is 40x40 14 high it heats easier than the house

Holmes

The garage should be harder to heat than the house.  Is it all spray foamed?       You are in Maine ,I would go with the 0011.  You will know the btu's are getting to the house and garage.

ok thanks i will see if i can find 2 0011

Do your homework. I found 009s for $179 shipped online. My plumber's cost locally was $236, and they weren't in stock.

Up until about 8 years ago the plumbing supply house was a great asset for plumbers, now they are not.  It is cheaper for me to buy many items at home depot or lowes.  The service and knowledge base has disappeared from the supply house.  We get less and pay more.
