Good afternoon,

First time poster to the forum, lurked for a while. Thanks retroactively for all the good info I have gleaned before today!

I was hoping you all could help me identify some wood/beams/lumber out of an old farmhouse on our property. We live in Western PA about an hour North of Pittsburgh, just South of I-80. It is very heavy and has been stained. Below are links to pictures. I tried to get a few of the floorboards and beams from underneath to get the unstained view, a few of the beams still have bark on them. Some have told me oak, others chestnut. I wanted to bring some real experts to the table!

Me too!
I'm still trying to figure out what the 'mystery wood' was that WDH brought to last years Pig Roast.  :)

Oops... on second thought  Danny, I think it was OneWithWood having fun passing around the mystery wood. MM was a no-show last year

Thank you, there probably are a few differing types in there.  If you don't mind the extra trouble which pictures are which type?

Thanks again.

Looking at the wavy grain around the knot in pic # 163, could it possibly be elm?

Looks more like ash to me.
