I just fired up my mill yesterday for the first time in several weeks.  I couldn't get it to cut straight no matter what I did.  It turns out one corner had sunk about an inch when the snow it was set up on melted.  So this is just a reminder if you mill has been set up since winter you should check that it is still level.

Good advice Joe, I am assuming your talking about a bandmill. When my bandmill was set up out doors it was resting on chunks of RR tie half buried in the ground. I would check the level often but it never changed. Only thing I can think of was I left a hefty layer of sawdust around its foundation. Circular mill posts go down 4' never detected any seasonal movement but I still check and leave a little sawdust around. Frank C.
