I've have a bad run with saws last few months.

Mostly concerned with my husky right now. 562xpg

Put a new bar on it, and noticed afterwards it stopped oiling. I drained the oil, put some gas in it, and flushed it out. It will flow out gas, but won't push oil. Saw is only probably two seasons old. Why would the oiler be bad already?

Are they a pain to change?

Check the drive gear, plastic and drives off the clutch drum. PN 577 54 81-01

If you have swapped between standard and small spline drums, you may need to change the drive gear as well (not really sure, but it has been discussed).

Forgot to add, no pretty easy to change. Worst part most times is getting the clutch off. Then cleaning all the junk out good so you can find the screws that hold the pump in.

If you haven't pulled the tank screen/pickup and back flushed it. I would do that also.

Did you say that it won't flow oil even when the bar/chain are removed?

Rotate the pump piston by hand to make sure it is moving freely before putting the new gear in.  :)
