My Stihl Ms211 idles well but dies when I squeeze the throttle quickly.   If I squeeze it very gradually tho it cuts OK.  Any thoughts on why this is happening?

That could be caused by the engine is getting too much air and not enough gas.
My 009L has done that before.
Adjusting the low speed jet fixed that problem.

What Stihl owner said.  You will most likely have to readjust your idle once you get the low speed dialed back in to where it will rev properly.  More fuel on the low speed = slower idle.  Bring your idle back up using the throttle stop idle adjustment if necessary.

Turn the low jet counter clock wise just a hair. Make a few cuts and see if it idles, if it don't, turn idle adjustment screw clockwise until you get the idle speed where you want it.
If its still boggy when you hit the throttle, open the low jet a hair more.

If its a new saw you might have to remove the limiter caps to give the low enough fuel to rev up properly.  Steve

Just a quick question on this topic. I have the same issue, but only when the saw is cold (first started). It bogs severely until warmed up. After that is runs good, idles good, doesn't bog. Is that something that I should be concerned about? I have adjusted both "H" and "L" richer from when I got the saw.

I let any engine warm up before revving and applying load. You could open up the low speed screw a tich and increase the idle speed to compensate.

Mr saw guy , How long do you let it warm up?

A couple of minutes. I use the time to get myself ready and prepare what I am cutting.
