Hi Guys,  I hate to ask this question comparing two brands, but I'm familiar with a woodmizer LT-15 that my brother has.  I really like his mill and have run it some.  I was going to take advantage of the sale and order an LT-15 and then I clicked the Ez-Boardwalk link and read a lot of positive reviews of forestry forum members.  I like the transport package, woodmizer dropped the transport only option. They look to be a pretty heavy duty mill and the service reported by owners seems good.  They are close to me.  My question is if the EZ 40 stacks up as comparable to an LT 15 relative to the sturdiness of the deck, its a different construction than the box beams of the woodmizer.

Not sure where your located, but I have an EZ 40 that you can look at or run if you like. I am in Central MO. I do know I had a white oak on it that was 38" and weighed 3800#'s. The sawmill frame and sawing was fine. Only problem I had was handling a log this size on a manual mill.

Thank you.  My farm is just south of Fulton, Im over there most weekends, I live in St Charles.  Are you planning on running your saw anytime soon?

I have the EZ Jr. and really like it. The thing is just plain solid.
Looking at the two you mention, I think I would go for the EZ 40. The two are comparable in a bunch of ways, but the one thing that sticks out in my mind is the width. You may pay a nickel more for blades, but the ease of use of a wider track can't be stressed enough. Even if you aren't sawing that big of logs, you will appreciate the room to flip, position and clamp what you have.
Hope this helps a bit.

I just have to respond.
I had a ez model 40. It actually would cut a 36'' board. I think it would swallow a 41''. I did that a few times. It is tough enough to do it. Mine only had the 20 hp honda. It worked very well and I did a lot of my learning on it.

Frame and clamps are for sure heavy enough for big logs. I bumped mine with the forklift many times and never hurt it.

Like many other mills it works better on a certian size logs. Big uns are tough. EZ boardwalk 40 is heavy enough to put up with the weight and punishment. PC
