Timberjack 230D w/ Borg-Warner T98-L2 seal question

Hey guys,

Thanks to Neilio and Bushmechanic we've got the tanny in our mid 70's Timberjack 230D figured out as a Borg-Warner T98-L2.  Well, we were doing a fluid change in both the trans and reverser box (got a bunch of water in it so it been flushed now).  My Brother in law noticed that when filling up the reverser box, fluid started to come out the trans drain plug.  The question is, should there be a seal between the reverser box and tranny?  We've never had them out, nevermind apart!  Just trying to catch anything before it gets big.  I will thank you guys in advance.

Been wondering that myself in my tranny ( Warner T98) as the same thing happens when adding oil/

 There should be a paper gasket between the two boxes but oil is free to flow between the two boxes. They are not two individually sealed boxes.

Can't help you with anything out your way. Around here I'd try Harolds Logging in Maine, or Nash Equipment in northern NH. 

Wait, I might have read your original post wrong. Are looking for a manual on the transmission itself, not a manual transmission?
