Since we are on the subject of sycamore, I planed the last of the batch of the Sycamore #3 Project, and there were some spectacular wide boards.  It has to be pretty rare to get clear boards this wide and with this much figure.

I don't mind you correcting me, but don't do it in front of my friends. I might fly off the handle! The last Goat I saw with a Cowboy hat wasn't pretty.  :D :D :D :D

Great idea DanG.  smiley_thumbsup

Jake,

It sounds like you have an excellent curriculum planned.  For those of us who can't get there, do you think someone might be able to record, edit and post a video of the activities?

When this thread popped back up, I was thinking if you decided to host another event it would be very helpful to those of use who are relatively new to sawmilling to do something like that.  Excellent idea DanG. I'm in.  smiley_thumbsup

I hope the   smiley_fiddler smile_banjoman smiley_hillbilly_tub_base

will be there. :)

Nice board.  I had never noticed any sycamore trees till I started looking for them lately.  My brother in Law has a massive one behind his house, but does not want it cut.  Can't wait for the next Sycamore project!

Don't get your hopes to high. It might be a White Oak or some other wood. We never know what we are going to cut or when. We tend to let the logs tell us. ;)
