Maybe cutting hay would be a better word. But then I am not baling either.  :wacky:
The lawn takes about a 1/2 hour.
The "haying" part is what takes days.
We mow the fields about every 2 weeks. Wife likes the looks of the fields being "mowed" instead of once a year.
And I do agree with her, it does look better.
One field the stepson needs to train his bird dog. So that is not being mowed. We go around about 4-5 times to keep the bushes at bay.
I was not feeling well and I slowly catching up. I still have to mow above the old farm house and the new piece, which is still too wet to mow.

Cold SE wind here and only 55°, not going to get much better. SE wind is cold here off the Strait, SW wind is like hades off the land mass.

Just came in from "mowing".  :wacky:
I really got wet this time.
Cold at 60° with the rain.
I only had a little bit to do when it really started to rain.  smiley_smug01
1/2 hour later it was done.

Yes, mother thought we needed a little furnace heat to, push button kind. And you scoffed awhile back about needing heat into June in this part of the continent.  You'll probably forget by next spring and blame your FIL for it. ffcheesy ffcheesy

Remember I was out mowing in the rain too when the heat came on.  smiley_smug01   I was some cold when I came inside.
Just like my father would say, Don't even know enough to in out of the rain.
Should of stayed in the house and watched TV.  ffcheesy

I have an order for 25 pounds of rhubarb.

No heat this morning at 56°. Looks like a dry day and a temps of 76 for a high.

That's a lot of Rhubarb.  ffcheesy

The recipe I used for the jam, I used a little more rhubarb than called for 6 cups instead of 5 along with the same amount of sugar called for and it was short 3 jars. Whoever wrote that doesn't realize that 1 cup of granular sugar isn't the same as 1 cup of water, I can tell them that.  :uhoh:

No dry and no 70's here today. Maybe 65° they said.

It's rained hard everyday since last Thursday, for about an hour or so, at 3-5pm. Then it quits and goes back to hot and sunny.

Well, yesterdays hour long hard rain came in a bit early, around 230p, then was spotty for the rest of the evening. Still raining this morning, but supposed to be nice this afternoon and start a short streak of less humidity.

Was 65° this morning, but 72° this afternoon. We had 1/2" of hard rain in a hurry at home but the woods at work was dry all day. The ride home I had light showers all the way.

66° and again add on about 20° for a high.
Yesterday the showers came in at 6:15, just about when I was ready to go outside after supper. Nothing real hard for rain but lasted a couple hours.
We saw a rainbow too!!!

Yesterday afternoon was the first dry one in a week or so. Still a bit hot and muggy but not terrible. The humidity went out, even though, this morning, my weather app claimed 90% there was almost a chill to the 445am air. It was lovely. We're supposed to be dry and nice until Monday, I think, then rain all week.

We had a heavy rain watch issued yesterday, for this afternoon. It arrived.

I'd gone up to Inglewood, about 15 mins North to do some IT work, and by the time I got there it was torrential. I checked the online rain gauges and they said 38 mm (1.5 ") for the last hour. I bailed on last part of the job (non urgent stuff) and headed home. There was about 3" of water flowing over the highway just out of town, and it was a slow trip with all the random surface water.

Not so bad here at home as the weather is coming in from the North, so hits that side of the Mt the hardest.

Spoke too soon. Culvert under the main road into town from the seems to have backed up. 2ft of water on the main highway. At least Lil is coming home from the South. And there is still a detour around the flooding.

62° and again add 20° for a high.
Some sun and looks like a thunder shower in the afternoon is coming.

I think it got to 85° here but this afternoon thunder storms dropped it back to 64° and we have been getting rain. 1/2" of rain in the gauge so far, still raining.

Not as wet today, but still some pretty intense showers. Here at home we got 5" of rain yesterday, but most of that fell in about 2 hours.  Rain gauge up on the side of the Mt recorded 11" for the day, and was over an inch per hour for about 5 hours.

Main road North out of the province was shut overnight (flooding and slips), and the goat track East is still closed this evening. Courier parcels were late to the depot is morning as the trucks had to make a 3+ hour detour.

Worst has passed now, maybe some smaller thundery squalls through tomorrow, but those move over pretty quick.

All that rain in an hour is not good. We had that happen a couple years ago. Had some major roads washed out.

55° and might get up to 75 today. Good weather for the 4th.

I had a nice fire going yesterday, burning dead pine trees cut 5' long in a pile. Then around 3PM the skies opened up and dropped .36" of rain in half an hour.  It rained so hard it put the fire out. I have an older wired Davis weather station that I keep track of rainfall amounts and there's a National Weather Service station 1.6 miles away - the NWS reported .07" for the same storm. It's always surprising that rainfall amounts vary so much locally; my measured rainfall is never the same as the NWS - sometimes more, sometimes less.

SwampDonkey

Same weather here as at Ray's. Day off, but will be gardening later. Had 1/2" rain yesterday. Everything is growing like gang busters in the garden. Sunflower stalks have got to be almost 3 feet tall now. Black elderberries in flower.
