The past 3 evenings I been sawing Red and White Pine with that Monkey blade. I've sawn about 900 BF, hit one nail, a few small rocks, some dirt and a bird nest. The blade is still going strong as ever. The saw dust shoots out about 30 feet, unbeleavable. I've never saw as fast as I've been. I usally clean the logs fairly good before I saw, but I just wanted to see what the blade would do and how much it could put up. So far I am very pleased with it.

I just reciently got 4 of those blades from KENNE SAW, been using the first one to cut old SYP thats been laying in a yard, right on the ground, the bark falls off when moving the log, hit a nail in the first log broke off two teeth but it's still cutting fine. 8)
Been doing so much with so little for so long I can now do anything with nothing, except help from y'all!
By the way rbarshaw is short for Robert Barshaw.

I eat a high-fiber diet.  Lots of sawdust!

Look over at the sponsors at the left.  MunkforsSagar is the proper name ( brought to light on the forum and given the slang term by Florida Deadheader) of a bandsaw blade manufacture.  There's been several post as to how well folks have found them to be. I just ordered a box and intend to give them a good work out as soon as I can get out of this knee deep mud.

FeltzE, I mentioned maybe you could get a trial blade for your mill, in response to your post about "Hard, Dry, SYP. a couple of days ago.

  Mostly, I just think they are sharper, hold the edge longer, and there is a "slickness" about 'em, that makes it easier to control the sap build-up from SYP.

  Again, call Kenne-Saw and ask David to send a trial blade. I tried WM blades and just couldn't get the results I wanted??? I don't use as much tension as WM says. Our ::) ;D mill is a WM imitation

Glenn, wish I was ::) ::)

  I just like to tell folks about a company that offers a FREE blade to try. It made such a difference to our mill, I just think everyone should try at least one. "try it, you'll like it". ;D :D :D

Are the blades "low tension" or do you run them at the normal tension of WM double hard?

Been there, done that.   Never got caught [/b]
Retired and not doing much anymore and still not getting caught

Fla._Deadheader

  We only tension the blade to what makes it cut well. I never come close to what WM says. We cut some 10 year old RO for 2 X 12's Wednesday, and the lumber yard we sell to asked if we had "planed" the boards while green???

  The log was 32" wide, and I just drop down taking off side lumber in 2" increments and then cut everything into 12's. They were for Trailer decking, so, didn't worry about turning. ::)

Fla: What am I doing wrong?  I have called Kenne-saw twice and asked for a sample blade and they said they dont give out samples.  After telling them that I was told by others on this forum to try one and that they would send me a free sample they said they dont do that.

Who do I need to talk to?  I know I could just buy one but while shell out the funds if everyone gets 1 for free?

Thanks
Kirk

Fla._Deadheader

  Kirk, ask for David. Don'T even try the others??? I had a he** of a time getting one for EZ. Finally got through to David. Tell him Harold in Fl sentcha. :) :)

  Make sure it's Dav ID. It's a Southern thang ::) ::) ;D ;D

 I'll bet since I started braggin about the way they cut, They have sold a couple hundred to folks here on the forum. Don'T know if any guests have called them or not ???

  That's reason enough to send out a free one occasionally. I believe it contributed to them becoming a Sponsor here, also.

Just kidding Harold.  I think you did us all a service bringing that blade to the forum. I'm surprised by the price as much as anything though.  Getting a great blade and saving 9.00 ea. over what I paid for the last batch I bought from another company just can't be beat noway.  H*ll FDH, maybe I should be paying ya a commission for doing all the leg work and sharing a great find.  Tell ya what, come on up to the burg and I'll buy ya lunch, how that?  You like peas?

We sawed a couple red oak today with the Monkey blade, amazing. The rest of the day we sawed pine with the same blade, amazing. The last log of the day I put one of the blades on that I use to use and what a big disappointment, I cant beleave I use to saw that slow. Now I got all of these old blades and some are brand new and I dont even want them.
