No way! It'd been funny seeing that rolling down the road with some shoes on it.

I don't know how you guys do it. Granted, sometimes I drive like a maniac but I couldn't leave my driveway without something falling off my car.

According to my wife, I'm the worst driver ever, so it must fall solely on luck lol
A couple years ago I put my board return on and when I got done I couldn't find the second 9/16 ratchet wrench I had been using. A few months later I decided to take the board return off and there was my wrench, on the nut jammed against the frame.....

I've told this tale before but many years ago we bought our son a hamster from K-mart and it died a couple days later. My wife called because it had a warranty and the guy said bring it in for a replacement. She stuck it in a ziplock bag in the freezer then a couple days later she was going to town so she took it out and walked to the car. She'd forgotten something so she laid it on top of the Impala and went back in the house to get it, came back and drove off with the dead, frozen hamster on top. A mile down the road she remembered and got out but it had blown off. She turned around and drove slowly looking for it. She found it and while there was not much traffic a car had come by and run over the hamster. Un deterred she picked it up and took it straight to K-Mart. She walked in, held it up to the pet dept manager and said "My hamster died." The guy looked at this flat, frozen hamster and asked "What did you do, run over him with a steam roller?" She told the tale and he laughed and gave her a replacement.

My dumb move may be cutting this tree. It is 21' to the fork and 31" at the cut. Now I'm wondering if I'm going to be able to get that butt log out of the woods with my undersized 750 JD tractor and ATV. A 12' and 16' cut off of the right fork pretty well maxed out tractor dragging it back to the mill site. I'm thinking a long cable, snatch block and come rollers may be called for as well as some help. We will see.

Looks like a lot of good lumber in there WV! I hope you don't need to buck it up too much more!

It's a beautiful log. I suspect I'll have to cut a an 8' log off the butt just to move it leaving me a 12' log above. I'm not sure I can drag it to my sawing site and may end up sawing it in the yard. ::)

i sat a hot ceramic mug of coffee on my bumper while hitching up the scout trailer and the other 30 things left to do in the 5 minutes before you leave.  i made it 3 blocks and thought, "where is my coffee"?  stopped and got it off the bumper.  It was a little too hot anyway, now it was just right!  :)

Lynn,

I you were back in the Army they would probably shut the battalion down for a safety stand down. I'm sure glad nothing like that ever happens to me. ::) Stay safe and be careful. Think of yourself as one of those lead steers (Bulls?) at the front of the cattle drive guiding the rest of the herd through the dust, Indians and other turmoil till the end of the trail. (I think I read some of them were actually boxed up and shipped back several times for the next drive to do it all over again. ;))

You should try sticking a spinning 4½" zip cut wheel under your thumb nail like I did yesterday, it felt great....lucky it didn't get too far.

doc henderson

Lynn, if they will cut a tree, they will cut your skin.  better not let Ms. pat see all those.  I got a puncture to my palm once uncoiling a blade.  it rotated right in, and the blade did not seem to feel a thing!   :)

You mean this isn't normal? I've just come to expect leaks when uncoiling bands.  Now I know better 😎
