I don't do nearly as many projects as you guys do but, FFOTS, I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who does stuff like that.

I've heard writing "Up" and "Down" in white chalk on the boards helps to keep from assembling things backwards. (I've heard that can happen). :-X

Under bark there's boards and beams, somewhere in between.
Cuttin' while its green, through a steady sawdust stream.
I'm chasing the sawdust dream.

Yes, I've done that too.  It helps.  Clearly I should have done it yesterday.  When I had elbow surgery about 10 years ago, before the surgery started the surgeon came in to talk to me.  While talking to me about the surgery, he made an X on the elbow to "mark the spot" to make sure they did surgery on the correct elbow.  I think he may have written NO on the other one.

Wasn't today, but last Saturday I put my finger where it out not be. Probably should have gone to the ER but chose to just clean and bandage it myself.

Got lucky and missed the bone. Through the nail but not all the way to the pad. Table saw bite.

Lee it still looks long enough, but you will not be picking your nose with that one for a while!  :) glad you are ok, and we will all be a little more careful for a while.

Thank you for putting the bandage on before taking the picture.

I'm happy every day that I bought my Sawstop tablesaw.  The only tablesaw injury I ever had was a piece of wood that got kicked back into my gut.  Just a minor injury.  I'm sorry that you got bit and I hope that it heals well.

It's still long enough because the cut was lengthwise. A serious nick. Through the nail and beside the bone enough to miss it but not deep enough to go all the way through. Seems to be healing up so far. Looked good when I changed the bandage last night. Surprisingly enough it has been pretty much pain free.

Did it get the base of the nail?

LeeB

Not quite. Came real close though.

That's good, if there's ever a good part to meeting a blade, you probably won't have a funky split nail.

I did a fair amount of delicate table sawing over the weekend and it went ok other than taking a corner out of a square length of wood. The corner I sawed out was on the fence side and a 3 foot long 1/2 inch chunk of wood flew past me, knocking a couple cans off the bench behind me and almost going through the tv.

I hope your finger heals up well!

To add to Doc's comment; if that was your favorite thumb, then your thumb sucking days they just might be over.
A cast on the arm of one's favorite thumb also helps cure that bad habit.

Crossroads

Well it's been a while since I've graced this thread with my presence, but here I am in all my glory 😳
Last week I replaced my power feed control module and diode. It was cold and my fingers weren't loving it, so I got it all buttoned up and took it for a quick test drive and it went back and forth as it should 👍🏻 I put the covers on and went to the house where it was warm. Today I finally got back to the mill to work on an order. Since I was milling a large pine log, I was in manual on the simple set and got the log broke down to the point that I needed the set works, but nope got the EO3 code and thought I might have some frozen sawdust in the encoder. I was on a roll and it was working fine in manual, so I continued milling. Then bang, I had a blade break and decided it was time to clean the encoder. As I was removing the last bolt for the cover, I glanced over at the control panel and noticed something strange.

Crossroads, in the early days of my auto mechanic career my favorite trick during a tune up was to forget the distributor rotor. Can't tell you how many of my tune ups wouldn't start on the first crank of the engine. Hey, I was 19. Cut me some slack!
