Oh no.  Wives with broken wings deserve and require special attention and care.  You will learn some of these special duties that us men never even think about.  I have learned to wash clothes, change the bed, fold fitted sheets, do some cooking and wash the dishes, vacuum and mop the floors.  Etc, etc, etc.

It has been a year now since PatD fell and broke her arm so my prayer is for healing grace for your wife and patience for you.

I was taught those long before I met her some in the Military and some as a bachelor.  ;D

She has MS that causes her to have limited mobility, this just compounds it. So I help with all of that already.

One of our Subarus has had a rattle for the last 6 months.  I replaced sway bar links a couple months ago as that was supposed to be a possible cause.  That didnt fix it.  Yesterday I was determined to fix it and ordered new struts.  That was the next on the list of most likely causes for the rattle.  I took the left front off while waiting for the parts to come in.  The dumbest part was that I did this in the garage and my son was supposed to go cut grass for my parents.  He of course couldn't do it because I had blocked the mower into the garage.  I got the strut in and went for a ride.  Still rattled.  I happened to kick the tire and noticed the rattle.  I suspected the brake capiper was rattling.  If I kicked it with my hand on the caliper there was no rattle.  Took the caliper off, brake pads off and then put all back together.  Rattle is all gone.  Well I wasted some money on parts, but at least the rattle is gone.  It was really annoying.  I took the other strut back to the store.

You probably should have put the other strut in too.  When working on a vehicle, you should do the same work on both sides of the car to keep things in balance.

I thought about it, but decided it wasnt necessary since there was nothing wrong with the strut I took out.

So I have been trying to help my wife with some large  decorative lighted letters for a wedding reception.   It is our daughter's best friend from childhood getting married.  Thankfully they are pretty much finished they are  a large D&M (Dan and Megan). Well we went to town and went to Hobby Lobby. It's about as big as a fleet farm full of more artsy decorative stuff than I can imagine.  Well we were looking for a decorative ribbon to spruce up the base of the letters.  This is mostly a warning for all you guys that might itch your chin or rub your face  while shopping with your wife in that store...

Many of the products contain glitter of many shades...
If your 3 day growth of beard itches a little and or  you rub your chin to itch or just  pondering what of the 300 rolls of stuff you've looked at will make these letters perfect. You will transfer glitter to your face and it sticks there. So there is a very good chance you will look like a preschool girl who just had a great time at arts and crafts....
Oh and this store is beside Harbor Freight, a Menard's and the Tractor supply store 2 of the three you are need in to stop at. Odds are Doc. one or more of your clients are going to be at one of those stores shopping, and mention your "nice glitter".  Yes my wife had great fun with it.....

Just a warning if you might be forced to go into a Hobby Lobby..

just one more reason. I have veered off and needed to buy pails of oil and hydraulic fluid on speculation to avoid being sucked into the store next door  :D.

Well Nebraska I have walked into a store with worse on my face, didn't realize it at the time, but as they say - it happens.  :D

Yeah but the glitter's not really normal for me. Not saying the other is  either but alas way more common...oh well...as you say "it happens"..

After almost 6 years of use, the factory original Wood-Mizer wood anti-vibration block in my mill decided to self destruct the other day. I was cutting a 2" thick, wide red oak slab when it failed. Worst part it broke in two, and "derailed" the sawblade causing it to dive and come to a screeching halt, ruining the slab. ::)
(Though I was able to salvage some 1" boards from that piece). I guess the smart thing to do is replace the block before it fails next time.

I bought one from Woodmizer once.  It's a little block of poplar.

I think they said it was Russian olive originally, (now it's more like olive salad). ;D
I just cut a piece of red oak as a temporary fix for now to get the mill back up running.

I think its that small block above the blade half way between the wheels. Keeps the blade from hitting the top of the frame work.

Inside my LT 28 it is a wood block held with 2 small screws, up inside the top of the blade enclosure, on the drive wheel side. The sawblade touches it lightly, and it keeps blade vibration down. Not sure if the bigger hydraulic mills are set up similar.

I believe the maintenance schedule is to conduct an electrical resistance and X ray of the block every 6 months to ensure it hasn't begun to degrade.

The block looks to be decayed. Would have failed the electrical resistance and X-ray tests.  ;) ;)

I guess my Yanmar vibrates enough to keep blade vibration nulled, cause I ain't got one.  Do yellow jacket nests count? ???

Brandi, yours has an adjustable stud instead of a wood block.  Your manual will give you the adjustment tolerance.

Went out in the rain just now.  Well not rain, but heavy sprinkling. Yes, I do have a stud there.  Guess it is good, as I never noticed it before Y'all said anything.

I need to replace the wood block in my mill too.  It fell out months ago and I didn't replace it.

So, its my turn again.  I needed gas in all my gas cans and diesel in my diesel cans for the tractor.  I needed diesel in my truck too, which is where the dump part comes in.  I had a plan.  I was going to put diesel in the truck and then pump into the diesel cans all in one receipt.  Then I would run my credit card again to buy gas.  Well, I arrived and started pumping fuel into the truck.  After 10 gallons had gone in I had a terrible thought.  As I was getting gas cans out of the back of the truck I thought, Oh my God, I think I'm putting gas into the truck.  Ran around the side and sure enough.  10.2 gallons to be exact had already gone into the truck.  DanG it!!  Well, I said a few expletives and then went ahead and filled up my gas and diesel cans.  Called the little repair shop that I go to.  They had called me earlier in the day to tell me my other truck was ready for pick up.  He called a tow truck for me and I rode in the tow truck to the garage.  Since my flatbed was ready to be picked up, I just drove home in that.  I wish I could blame it on pump handle colors, but it was just me being stupid.  They are going to drain my tank of course and then I told them to change my fuel filters.  I was due for that 500 miles ago.  I will have to go over there with the 10 gallons of diesel I bought for the tractor and put it in the truck.

Man, that sucks, BUT you caught it before you cranked it up, so good on you! That saved a bunch of damage, cost, and work. Take that part as a win at least.

Oh, I was very happy that I had realized what I had done.  I went into the station and told the desk worker what I had done and that I was sorry, but I was going to be blocking that pump until the towtruck came.  No way I was starting the truck.
